End Of Life

Every staff member at our clinic has a pet of their own. We understand how important your pet's comfort and well-being is to you. This is why we offer Quality Of Life consultations designed to guide you in making the best decisions for your companions.

Our team is here to provide expert advice tailored to your pet's needs so you know you're making the right decision, and when it needs to be made. Together, we can ensure your pet crosses that bridge with compassion and dignity.

Okanagan Pet Cremation

We work with services in our community to provide options for your pets remains without a long journey to get there and back.

What To Expect

Our end of life visits usually take place in our consultation room; this is our quietest and most private room.

The veterinarian will do a brief exam on your pet to make a plan that suits them for that day.  Based on this exam, we may give your pet an intramuscular (IM) sedative to help calm them and relieve as much stress as possible.

When your pet is relaxed and comfortable, the vet may place an IV catheter in your pets front leg, possibly with the help of an assistant or tech.

When you're ready, the vet will give your pet the medication via their vein (through the IV if one was placed). This allows your pet to pass away peacefully.

We Go At Your Pace

Cremation Options

We offer two different options for your pets ashes.

I. Private Cremation means your pet will be cremated separately and you will receive your pets ashes back in a scatterbox or an urn of your choice.

II. Communal Cremation means your pet will not be cremated alone. Okanagan Pet Cremation will spread their ashes over a beautiful scenic field overlooking the lake and surrounding mountains of the valley.
