Radiology and Ultrasound

When we need to look inside your pet’s body to assess for disease or damage, we utilize the latest digital imaging techniques, including both digital radiology and ultrasound. These diagnostic tools are considered non-invasive and pain-free.

Digital Radiology

We employ the latest in digital technology!

Our radiology suite is located on-site, giving us access to important information within seconds.

We keep your animal as calm as possible to get the clearest image we can but, when necessary, we can offer sedation. We do this when an animal becomes exceptionally stressed to keep them and our team safe while still getting the diagnostics we need.

When needed, with a click of a button, we can send your pet’s radiographs to be evaluated by a certified radiologist that consults on the case.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses sound waves to assess internal tissue structure and to observe organ function in real-time!

Ultrasounds will often be done without sedation, however light sedation may be used for long procedures, especially if your pet is on their back for extended periods.

We often use an ultrasound machine to view your pets bladder and retrieve a sterile urine sample in a process called a "cystocentesis" or a "cysto" for short. Knowing this sample is not contaminated, we can run a number of in-house tests using this method!
